A pilot project of a new automated routing system called Worklist Manager is beginning this week. During the first phase of the project, hiring managers and other designated staff will use the system to get online approvals for new positions and job requisitions, said Ammy Hill, Workflow Project campus readiness specialist. Since the implementation of the PeopleSoft HR system, there has been no formal online process for those functions and staff have relied on e-mail and paper approvals, Hill said. The new system also will allow more flexibility, since staff can identify more than one other person who can approve the actions, she added. A second rollout is planned for October, when functions including online applicant hiring approval and concurrent job hiring approval (for employees who already have one or more part-time positions) will be added, Hill said. Future applications of the system could include online routing for approvals in the Graduate Financial System and Oracle Financials, she said. The pilot does not affect paperwork required by the current hiring freeze. Online tutorials for Worklist Manager are available at http://hrweb.stanford.edu/hrms. Through Aug. 7, hands-on help will be available for staff at Godzilla Module near Roble Field from 10 a.m. to noon, Mondays through Thursdays. Presentations also are available to departments and business units, Hill said. For information, contact Hill at ammyh@stanford.edu or 725-6231.
