Crown Prince Philippe and Princess Matilda of Belgium visited Stanford and the Hoover Institution Feb. 24. The visit was an homage to the Hoover Institution, which has had close ties to Belgium since World War I when the former president launched an aid program. It also was a trip down memory lane for the prince, who earned a master's degree in political science from Stanford in 1985. The royals toured the campus, visited Hoover Tower and Carillon, and met 30 Belgian students at the Bechtel International Center. Video: Damon Meyer |
