Senate to discuss USA Patriot Act The Faculty Senate convenes Thursday to discuss an important issue for the entire campus community: the USA Patriot Act. Godfrey Mungal, associate dean of graduate policy, and Ann Arvin, associate dean of research, will report on the implications for the university of the act, which was passed in late 2001 in response to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The act touches on issues ranging from restrictions on commonly researched pathogens to foreign student visas. In other business, Eric Roberts, faculty co-chair of the Board on Judicial Affairs, will report on action items pertaining to the judicial charter, penalty code and Honor Code approved by the board over the past two years. The senate will meet Thursday at 3:15 in Room 180 of the Law School. Seating
