| Bravman named acting vice provost for student
affairs
John Bravman, vice provost for undergraduate education, was named acting vice provost for student affairs, effective July 1, when James Montoya left the position. Bravman is chair of the search committee seeking Montoya's successor. Jeff Wachtel, special assistant to the president and provost, also will act as special assistant to Bravman until an appointment is made, he said. "We're confident an appointment will be made by the fall term," Wachtel said. It's unlikely, however, that the new vice provost would start work before 2002, he said. Montoya, who had served as
vice provost for student affairs since 1997, left Stanford to
become a vice president of the College Board. |
