Located on the second floor of Tresidder Union next to the computer cluster, the center -- currently in its fourth year -- is staffed by the Dean of Students/Graduate Life Office and provides general information; telephones for free local calls; computers connected to Axess and the World Wide Web; campus maps; and pamphlets on Stanford, government and community resources.

In other welcoming activities, new and continuing graduate students are invited to a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, on the patio outside the information center at Tresidder. And from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, the Graduate Orientation Activities Lunch and Information Event (GOALIE IV) will be held at the Canfield Courtyard (located between Meyer Library and the School of Law), where Provost John Etchemendy will welcome students.

Also, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, a reception for spouses of new and continuing students will be held in the Buttery/Hacienda Commons area at Rains Houses. Child care will be available to those making advance reservations with Teresa Rasco at 723-2660 or trasco@stanford.edu.
