Lunch spots taking a break

BY BARBARA PALMER

Your lunch plans could change from now until early September, as some campus eateries take a breather. With the summer conference season winding down and weeks to go before classes begin, "business gets slow," said Leeroy Fitch, director of retail for Bon Appétit Management Co., which manages several eateries in Tresidder Union.

Scheduled closings include:

At Tresidder Union:

  • The Coffeehouse, closed through Aug. 26

  • The Café, closed Aug. 26 through Sept. 9

  • Corner Pocket Pizza, closed Aug. 26 through Sept. 9

  • Java City/Baker Street, closed Aug. 26 through Sept. 3

Also:

  • Bytes Café (at the Packard Electrical Engineering Building), closed Aug. 24 through Sept. 9

  • Thai Café (at Jordan Hall) closed through Sept. 23

Cafés including the Treehouse at Tresidder Union, Nuts and Mudd café at Terman Engineering, the Cubberly Café at the School of Education, the Law School Café and the Arbuckle Café at the Graduate School of Business are among those that plan to stay open all summer. A list of snack bars and cafes on campus and at the medical school appears on the Physics Library website.
