Ensemble Intercontemporain will perform new work and 20th-century classics at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, in Dinkelspiel Auditorium. Conducted by David Robertson, the ensemble tackles unusual repertoire and experimental projects as well as classics from the first part of the century. The program features Philippe Hurel's Six miniatures en trompe-ëúil; Pierre Boulez' Dérive 2 &1; Unsuk Chin's Xi, for ensemble and electronics; and Elliott Carter's Concerto for Clarinet.
The performance is the Ensemble's
first Bay Area appearance in more than 10 years. It is presented by
Stanford Lively Arts in partnership with the Music Department's
Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics. Tickets are
$25 and $28, half-priced for youth under 15 and discounted for
students, and are available through the Stanford Ticket Office,
