Panel discussion on
'Shaping Silicon Valley'
Community and business
leaders will speak at a panel discussion on "Shaping
Silicon Valley: Perspectives on Race, Ethnicity and
Class." The free, public event will be held from 4
to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 15, in the Law School, Room
290.
The discussion will
explore the differing viewpoints of labor, business,
education and government in the Bay Area. Confirmed
speakers include Amy Dean, South Bay AFL-CIO Labor
Council; Dr. Glen Toney, Applied Materials; J. Manuel
Herrera, Eastside Union High School District; and Jim
McEntee, Santa Clara County Human Relations Commission.
Nadinne Cruz, director of the Haas Center for Public
Service, will serve as moderator.

the Haas Center's South Bay Project, the Office for
Multicultural Affairs and Stanford in Government. For
