Notre Dame to honor William Beaver with honorary doctorate

Business School Professor William H. Beaver will receive an honorary doctor of laws degree from the University of Notre Dame at its 153rd commencement exercises May 17. Beaver, the Joan E. Horngren Professor of Accounting, is an award-winning teacher as well as a leading researcher in financial accounting. Author of Financial Reporting: An Accounting Revolution, Beaver has served his field as a consultant to the Financial Accounting Standards Board, a member of the Securities and Exchange Commission Advisory Committee, a trustee of the Financial Accounting Foundation and a member of numerous editorial review boards. He is also a past president of the American Accounting Association and a member of the itsHall of Fame. Beaver is a 1962 graduate of Notre Dame. He joined the Stanford faculty in 1969.
