Professor Hank Greely directs the Center for Law and the Biosciences, which examines biotech discoveries in the context of the law, weighing their impact on society and the law's role in shaping that impact. The Center is part of the Stanford Program in Law, Science & Technology. Professor Greely is an expert on the legal, ethical and social issues surrounding health law and the biosciences. He specializes in the implications of new biomedical technologies, especially those related to neuroscience, genetics and stem cell research. He has been quoted on fetal testing for Down syndrome, genetics tests for athletic ability, and direct-to-consumer genetic test marketing.
