Dish reopened after fire

Stanford’s Dish was reopened Wednesday, Aug. 23, after it was briefly closed due to a brush fire late Tuesday night. That fire burned an estimated 3 acres in the popular hiking area.

The Dish was reopened Wednesday after it was temporarily closed because of a brush fire late Tuesday. That fire burned an estimated 3 acres in the popular hiking area near Highway 280.

Palo Alto firefighters responded about 10 p.m. and had the fire quickly contained. Also called to the fire were crews from Mountain View and Santa Clara County. One Palo Alto firefighter was injured, according to Palo Alto Deputy Fire Chief Catherine Capriles. Capriles said the fire was caused by an electrical power line incident.
